Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of TeamTrips (the “Service”). By creating an account, accepting an invitation, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. Coaches and parents may enter information about minors (e.g. children on a team roster) only if they have authority to do so. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity that occurs under your account.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate another person, or post content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or harmful to minors.
- Upload malware, attempt to probe or breach security measures, circumvent rate limits, scrape data at scale, or interfere with other users' access to the Service.
- Submit false payment information or use the Service to launder funds, evade chargebacks, or solicit payments outside the context of legitimate team activities.
- Use the Service to send unsolicited bulk communications or violate any applicable law (including export, privacy, and consumer-protection laws).
We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe violate these rules.
3. Your Content
“User Content” means anything you submit to the Service: team and trip details, messages, comments, photos, files, roster information, etc. You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant TeamTrips a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify (e.g. for resizing or formatting), display, and transmit User Content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service for you and the people you have shared it with.
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the User Content you submit and for having any necessary consents from third parties (including parents of minors and members of your team) before sharing their information through the Service.
4. Teams, Invitations, and Roles
The Service organizes information by team. Team owners and administrators may invite or remove members, change roles, post announcements, and configure team settings. By accepting an invitation you agree that other members of that team can see your name, profile photo, and any content you post within that team, subject to the role-based permissions enforced by the Service.
5. Payments
Payments through the Service are processed by Stripe, Inc. By making or receiving a payment you also agree to the Stripe Services Agreement, and, if you receive payments, the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. TeamTrips does not store full card numbers; payment credentials are handled by Stripe.
Payments between team members are routed through TeamTrips's Stripe Connect platform. TeamTrips charges a service fee on each payment to cover platform and processing costs; the fee is deducted from the amount the recipient receives. The underlying transaction is between the paying member and the receiving member — TeamTrips facilitates the routing of funds but is not a party to the underlying obligation (e.g. the expense, trip cost, or reimbursement) being settled.
You are responsible for the accuracy of any expense, split, or payment you initiate. Disputes about whether an expense is owed, the correct amount, or whether a reimbursement is appropriate must be resolved between the team members involved. TeamTrips does not arbitrate, mediate, or refund such disputes.
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute through your card issuer or bank, TeamTrips and Stripe may be required to participate in the dispute process, may debit the disputed amount (plus any associated fees) from the receiving member's connected account, and may suspend your access to payments while the dispute is resolved. Initiating a chargeback in bad faith — including to evade a legitimate obligation to another team member — is a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination.
Recipients of payments are responsible for any taxes owed on funds received through the Service. TeamTrips does not provide tax advice and does not issue tax forms except where required by law.
6. Communications
By creating an account you consent to receive transactional emails from TeamTrips at the address you provide (magic-link sign-in, invitations, payment receipts, mentions, password recovery, and other notifications you have enabled). You can disable optional notifications in your account settings; transactional and security emails cannot be turned off while your account is active.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content we provide (other than User Content), is owned by TeamTrips or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or trade dress.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers — including Supabase (hosting, database, authentication), Vercel (application hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and Upstash (rate limiting). Their availability and policies are outside of our control; their failures or policy changes can affect the Service.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion via support@teamtrips.app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, create risk to TeamTrips or other users, or for prolonged inactivity. After termination we may retain limited information as described in our Privacy Policy or as required by law.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. TEAMTRIPS DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT TRIPS, CARPOOLS, OR PAYMENTS COORDINATED THROUGH THE SERVICE WILL OCCUR AS PLANNED. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TRAVEL, TRANSPORTATION, AND FINANCIAL DECISIONS YOU MAKE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TEAMTRIPS AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TeamTrips and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Effective” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you (e.g. an in-app banner or email). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which TeamTrips's operating entity is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that jurisdiction, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
